Network addresses and broadcast addresses cannot be used as host addresses.

The point of this question is to make sure you understand that x.x.x.255 is not necessarily a broadcast address.
We first learn on /24 networks so 255 is always the broadcast with that subnet and for some people that sticks.

Here you have to determine your network which is given 10.1.160.0 and the broadcast. 10.1.175.255 which we get from our subnetting skills. We can then determine if the numbers are usable ip addresses.

Please note we purposely avoid giving the answers because it is the understanding that matters. If you have more questions please elaborate.

    Thanks
I do not think that those IP's can be assigned to hosts
as they are Network and Broadcast IP's,am I correct ?

I think you have a little more work to do. Can you post the network range that you came up with to make your decisions? Also you probably want to answer for each address rather then grouping them together.

Sometimes when your first learning it helps to check your answers with an online subnetting calculator. Just make sure you do the work in your head first. In the CCNA exams subnetting quickly is a must. Most recommend no more then 15 seconds per address.

edit: When studying I use to think of it this way.

    192.168.1.55/24

    Network Address:192.168.1.0
    First usable IP:192.168.1.1
    Last usable IP:192.168.1.254
    Broadcast Adress: 192.168.1.255

    on to next network

Network Address:192.168.2.0 (the next IP following the broadcast of the last network)
    First usable IP:192.168.2.1
    Last usable IP:192.168.2.254
    Broadcast Adress: 192.168.2.255

You won't have to write them out once you understand them but it helps to see the ranges when your learning it.
