VTP Between Networks

I have 2 different networks separated by 2 routers. Each network consists of 1 switch. One switch is configured as VTP Server, the other is VTP Client. There's perfect connectivity between both networks, and yet the switch configured as a VTP Client doesn't get revisions from the VTP server. ( I didn't include the network between the routers).
Is it supposed to be that way? Or am I missing something? If you need to see the configuration I'll post it, however it's a little bit problematic right now.

A VTP domain is made up of one or more interconnected switches that share the same VTP domain name -
