So I finally got a call about an internship. I missed the call Friday while I was at work. The guy left a voicemail and said he wanted to talk about what we could do for each other. I am going to call him Monday morning and I'm kinda nervous. Is there anything specific I should ask him about the internship? You think he will ask alot of technical questions over the phone? I guess there is only one way to find out... The details about the internship are below....I'm hoping it will work out and be a good opportunity. Did any of you have any good internships that helped you with your career?
Responsibilities that our internship will be working with…
Computer repair support [Apple | PC’s]
Inventory Management support
Documentation support
Level 1 helpdesk support
Maintain ticketing system
Mobile Phone support [Apple | Droids]
Wiring and Cabling
Ready to get started?

Do they tend to bring people on fulltime after their internship has finished and do they have a growth path for those who are successful interns? How long is it for? ETC. Of course, if you are already working in IT, say in an helpdesk, I'd definitely want to know what the long term paths are for it. They can be quite good to get in on and can definitely help grow a person's career if you lack the IT experience. I'd just want to know the vision of the internship as well as what would be expected out of you. Good luck!

.I would like to keep my full time job also if possible but we will have to see how interview goes... -

Just be personable, passionate, and well spoken. If you have worked in customer service, definitely highlight that as well. And as far as continuing your current job, do they have any leeway as to your hours so you could shuffle it around to accommodate this internship? This experience will definitely give you a heads up when you are ready to fully immerse yourself into the IT world and it's great that they do have a path to become full time after it has completed.

anhtran35 Member Posts: 466I don't think that's a good opportunity at all. It's a 45 minute commute and the job description is the equivalent of an A+ technician. You can get this job working at Best Buy.

bookishspider Member Posts: 26 ■□□□□□□□□□Im still going to hear what they have to say as far as pay and the opportunity to grow in the company....I would say this would look better on a resume than geek squad but that is just my oppinion...The drive is farther than i want but there arent very many opportunities near me...I would also get credit for school...If anything i will get some interview experience...
