in CASP+
After I got an email of a great deal for CASP vouchers 75% off, I had to jump on it, I was originally planning to keep this cert on hold for at least a couple years so that when I got it it'd renew my other CE certs, but the deal was too great to pass up on, so I'm hoping to get this one in the bag tomorrow, and then my Cloud+ on Friday :DWish me luck.

Cloud+ shouldn't be a problem either; just make sure you review hypervisors.
Good luck - you probably don't need it though.
What are you using to study? You know I'm taking it 3/13 - Friday the 13th!timku.com(puter) | ProHacker.Co(nsultant) | ITaaS.Co(nstultant) | ThePenTester.net | @fuz1on

The worst part is they don't tell you the passing score nor what domains you need to work on. I know you usually score pretty high on exams so you'd have to expect that the passing score is 95%. I thought I had passed - seriously.
So I guess the million dollar question now is... Is the CASP more difficult than CISSP?timku.com(puter) | ProHacker.Co(nsultant) | ITaaS.Co(nstultant) | ThePenTester.net | @fuz1on

jeremywatts2005 Member Posts: 347 ■■■■□□□□□□Dude I got my rear kicked on the SIMS when I took it in Beta. They were tough and literally no joke. Stuff like you have 20K to spend and you want to do x with the network now figure out what devices you need. BTW where did you get the 75% off coupon I want to go after this joker again, but not spend the full costs to do it.

Yeah the exam was difficult, but it consisted of 60 multiple choice questions and 4 sims (for me), and the CISSP consists of 300...
make sure you know all about
SOAP & XACML - I got many of these type of questions Single Sign on questions too... it didn't touch much on encryption, and was far more difficult then the practice exam I got with my McGraw Hill CASP CAS-001 literature...
study hard and let us know how you fare on it

I am not laughing at all, I thought it was one of the most difficult tests I have taken to date. The CISSP is just long and cannot be rushed, you have to view it from a certain perspective to be successful.
The CASP recommends you have 10 years experience and I believe that is a fair recommendation as most of what got me through the test was experience not the crappy material I read. -
fuz1on Member Posts: 961 ■■■■□□□□□□I am not laughing at all
Haha...thanks. It is tough but doable. You probably have to get close to 100% on the multiple-choice to give yourself a fighting chance with the performance sims. Hopefully, the Force/Schwartz will be strong in me today.
May the Schwartz be strong with you guys and gals.timku.com(puter) | ProHacker.Co(nsultant) | ITaaS.Co(nstultant) | ThePenTester.net | @fuz1on

This was my experience as well. The Sims seem to be a bit vague in what they're asking versus what they're looking for answer wise. Some of the sims were straight forward. But, overall, You really need to know your stuff. Even studying the book doesn't mean a guaranteed pass.
I think Comptia did a good job on the exam structure itself. But, there is clearly some teething and rough areas. I'm scheduled to take the CAS-002 and am currently waiting on my book. -
fuz1on Member Posts: 961 ■■■■□□□□□□No go! I really felt like I passed but - I guess - I must continue to improve my knowledge-base. I really tried to sim the performance-based questions but their CIOS (CompTIA IOS) got me again! Next time, it's CAS-002! After, I get some more enterprise security experience and a few other certs (CCNA/JNCIA-Junos/VCP-DCV/NV, SIP, LFCE, etc) - hopefully, I'll be able to pass. So I guess the million dollar question now is... Is the CASP more difficult than CISSP?
I took the CASP exam last night and failed. I thought I did well, had 4 sims and 64 questions. I thought I nailed 3 of the 4 sims. The telco firewall and two routers sim was to vague. I knew at least 35 of the 64 questions were right for sure and made educated guesses on the others. But with no guage on how I did other than failed I don't know if I want to take it again. I have take the CISSP twice before also, and it is more difficult. It wears you down with 250 questions that almost take you the entire 6 hours to answer. Not fun at all. -
H3||scr3am Member Posts: 564 ■■■■□□□□□□sorry to hear that you also did not pass the CASP exam, did you take 001 or 002? seems we had the same number of questions, and I know the SIM you're talking about too, the switch/router CLI wasn't Cisco and I had no idea how to configure/change the interface IPs on the devices, which really made me waste a lot of time trying to do so and/or figure out how to...
