Passed VCA-DCV

It was far much easier than I thought. This is a pure fundamentals exam.
Spent a couple of hours preparing combined with daily use of vSphere & vCenter.

I've heard the VCA-Cloud while still being fundamentals, is harder

If you ever get a CCNA, you'll qualify to pass the VCP-NV exam, this expires at the end of 2015

Congrats! How much experience do you have in vSphere? I'm hoping to take mine this spring.

I've heard that people have passed the exam for VCA-DCV by doing little more than taking the recommended (and free) Fundamentals training.

VCA-DCV took me about 5 hours of study during work.
VCA-Cloud took me about 12 hours of studying. It was significantly more difficult than DCV.
I plan to do the rest of the VCA certs then move onto VCP-DCV.

I've worked with VMware Workstation for 2+ years and vSphere, HyperV a few times a month.

I would say its possible to knockout 1-2 certs per day if you focus very hard.

This was true for me. It's kind of an expensive placeholder cert/waste of time to be honest. Most of the money is better spent on the icm course from an academy like stanly.

Yes, have a look on VMware.com/certification for the full registration process as you have to pre-authorise there before booking with Pearson.

When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep, So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler And your need like an armed man.
