Network digram help

I have this diagram set up right now, where should I put the Syslog server? I'm thinking I should have it lined up with the firewall like the 2nd picture.


Or should I have it like Internet >> Router >> Firewall >> Syslog >> Firewall creating a DMZ?

Let me know your thoughts.. thanks in advanced!
