Passed the CISSP this past weekend

fullcrowmoonfullcrowmoon Member Posts: 172
I studied for three months using a variety of resources:
* CISSP Exam Guide by Shon Harris
* The 11th Hour CISSP by various
* The Official (ISC)2 CISSP CBK

Last week I took a 6-day (ISC)2-approved boot camp, with the exam on the 6th day, and I passed. I have 15 years experience in UNIX/Linux Systems Administration, 2 years experience in a NOC, and 1 year as a Cybersecurity Auditor.

I was the only female out of 22 people who took the exam that day.

Outstanding!!! It felt great to finish it didn't it? Best of luck on the Part II process. I'll be sending off my paperwork tomorrow and have my recommender blessing off on everything.

That's kind of why I mentioned it. I've been in the business a long time, and I keep hoping to see more women, but more often than not I'm the only one, or maybe 1 of 2.

One day I'll tell y'all how I got into UNIX. It involves a bet on whether or not women's brains can handle technical info.

Luckily I sit next to a manager who was able to do the endorsement portion for me. I faxed the info to (ISC)2 yesterday and received email confirmation that they had received it a couple of hours later. Now to wait!
