Should I give this thing an attempt?
So I can't really tell if I am really ready for this test or not. I've read Meyer's book, took notes, and watched most of Messer's videos. I've been doing Meyer's practice tests and scoring 90-95% on 3 exams. I also did Darrel Gibson's test questions, and found those to be quite easy. Easily 95% on his questions. I got my port numbers, connectors, and cables memorized...etc, etc..
I feel I understand the material pretty well but nervous about it. Not sure though what else to study for or how much more depth in the topics. Is there any other info out there I should look at? How in depth is the subnetting?
Thanks...

Jon_Cisco Member Posts: 1,772 ■■■■■■■■□□Honestly if it's your first exam and you covered all the info your best best it to try and take it. If you don't have much money you can study some more but it's just impossible to know until you try it.
Good Luck! -
ssnyderu2 Member Posts: 475 ■■■□□□□□□□If you are getting 90% an up on your practice test, the I would say go take it. It has been a few years since taking the exam, but I dont remember my exam having enough subnetting questions to really worry about. Good luck to when you do take it!2019 Goals: 70-698, CCENT, MCSA 2016

quickman007 Member Posts: 195Go for it! Honestly, the Network+ was one of the easiest exams I've taken, and not just certification exams. I may have gotten an easy set of questions, tough. If you know your acronyms and what they do you should be fine. The subnetting is minimal.

Kandinsky Member Posts: 108 ■■■□□□□□□□It sounds like you're probably there, also don't forget to know your OSI layer backwards and forwards and what protocols operate on each layer etc. It's not too intense on the subnetting, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

MarcIT Member Posts: 36 ■■□□□□□□□□I'd say review the objectives of the exam and ensure you are comfortable or at least relatively comfortable with everything listed, and then go for it.
Memorizing the hundred million protocols would probaly be redundant though.

Got the voucher, I hope they send it today so I can schedule an exam, otherwise I may have to talk to real humans
Anyone knows what's the policy for scheduling same-day exams? -
GForce75 Member Posts: 222Good luck! You can actually schedule within 15 minutes (done several times), but it's really the policy of testing center your at. They may require actual appts and etc. If you ever find yourself hurting on N+, study CCENT and then you will kill N+... but you'll be good.Doctoral Candidate - BA (33/60hrs) ~ MBA/Project Management ~ BA/Business-IT

NVM, IT Exam Vouchers got it all scheduled for me
What a sweet deal, btw! Do you find often such discounts or is it "once-a-year" type of thing? -

You kinda just gotta have good timing (ie. check daily ). I wasn't going to take Network+ either but I got it at $139 too - so I did it like you are! I guess my best find - to date - was Mobility+ for around the same price! Jumped on that one with a quickness!timku.com(puter) | ProHacker.Co(nsultant) | ITaaS.Co(nstultant) | ThePenTester.net | @fuz1on

doctore Member Posts: 17 ■□□□□□□□□□Thanks for the info and deal fuz1on. Nailed the N+ today, now on to greener pastures.
OP - sorry for the hijack, you should have no problem with N+. I remember failing the Meyers' tests (Total Tester), to the point where I thought there must be something wrong with the software, but didn't care enough to go through 100 questions and count myself Something the Meyers book didn't cover well-enough was wireless and security, fyi. -
