Mastering Server 2012 R2 book, help?

Hi,

I'm reading this book and was wondering what sections/chapter can I skip for the 70-410 exam?



I’ve come across the IPAM section, do I skip this for now?

Kinda sorta. Know how to install it and what it does.

IPAM is more of a 70-412 thing. Your best bet is to have the exam objectives on hand and focus on chapters that line up with them.

Someone in the countless threads actually made a list of chapters that are more geared towards the 70-410. I'll have a look see if I can find anything, but if I were you I'd take a look for myself.

You can probably skip things like Clean migration, FRS -> DFS-R, IPAM etc. If you look at borntolearn, you can use it to eliminate sections from 2012 R2 book which are not relevant for 70-410. You can create study plan and keep track of progress.

IMO, this exam cannot be passed without work experience. You need vast amount of lab time and a lot of study (I'm talking 3-4 hours everyday for a month) if you do not have experience, depending on how quickly you learn.

I agree usually IPAM does not surface on the tests as an objective till 70-412 and 70-413, Implement and Design respectively. I would read the highlights on IPAM so you know when it's not an answer. As for the objectives https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/exam-70-410.aspx see Skills Measured.
