AWS re:Invent 2015 - Las Vegas

Hey!

Just got approval from the bosses for the re:Invent in Las Vegas this year! Any one from here thinking about going ?

The conference is being held at the Venetian from Oct 6th - Oct 9th.

Background : I work as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with an AWS Consulting Partner. We are a group of 4 Consultants working out of Wellington, New Zealand and I deal with Support & Infrastructure Opportunities.

Would be good to meet some of you there !

Well. It is a long way away. I need approvals. And leave. And visas. And tickets. Coming to Vegas from Wellington, New Zealand!

Thought i'd find if anyone else has planned.

I intend to keep this post a commentary as well. It will be used for a blog at the end of the summit.

Thinking about going on my own dime. Training gets approved, conferences, not so much. I've got a partner code, so I'm good there. Although, most of the sessions get posted online post conference.

That is true. I will be attending a couple of boot camps outside of the conference too. There are some running on Monday and Tuesday. Making the most of the trip !

Just realized you're coming out from NZ! Yeah, I'd certainly stay for as long as time permits. Maybe even take in some Casinos while you're out.

The one thing I feel bad about is that the Puppet Conf is also during the same time and not very close by! Wish I could have attended that as well!

Again, don't fret. All puppet conf videos go online post conf.

Granted, I realize it's the communicating with other like minded folks that is the real benefit, but this isn't a bad consolation prize.

AutomaCon | An interchange of ideas about the future of infrastructure as code and continuous provisioning. Thats another! I hope they put their slides / videos up too.

I'll be flying in Monday so I can attend the Global Partner Summit on Tuesday. Will anyone else be attending?

I am flying in on Saturday. I wont be attending the Global Partner Summit though. I have signed up for two boot camps on Monday and Tuesday.
