One more question about DHCP

Suppose we have an ip address 192.168.1.8/24. What is the difference between the 2 broadcast addresses 255.255.255.255 and 192.168.1.255 (in this case) ??

I presume the fist one is for all subnets and the second one is for this particular subnet. But I'm not so sure about it. Hope you can carify the question.
