add static route in cisco 2950 switch

Hello,
1. How can I add a static route in cisco 2950 series switch? I added static route in cisco3550 series switch using "ip route..." command. but i could not add static route in 2950. anybody can help me to add this?
2. And can i perform inter vlan routing using 3550 without an external router? i have created two vlan and configure ip per vlan, now what to do...??

netstat Member Posts: 65 ■■□□□□□□□□a 2950 works at layer 2 only. No form of routing can be done, therefore no static routes. 3550 on the other hand is a more advanced switch which supports layer 2 to 4.
