COMPTIA objectives upgrade? Book revisions.
Noticed there are some new versions / revisions of these books on the way out
When is it expected that the objectives will be changed?
Hate to invest in material that will obsolete in the next month, especially if it takes me three months to read.
A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Sixth Edition
ISBN: 0072263113
Mike Meyers' A+ Certification Passport, Third Edition

falcon2099 Member Posts: 20 ■□□□□□□□□□You could wait, or not. It won't make a bit of difference. Even if the A+ objectives change tomorrow, that won't change the fact that the 6th edition book is already at the printers and being produced right now.
I would think that if someone as involved with the IT industry as Mike Meyers is putting out a new edition of a book, he has probably contacted CompTIA and asked if the objectives will be changing soon.
I say go ahead and buy the 5th Edition, but you might want to bookmarkhttp://www.totalsem.com/support/errata/index.php?book=aio_aplus_5
andhttp://www.totalsem.com/support/errata/index.php?book=pass_aplus_2
for book errata. All the 6th Edition really is is the 5th Edition with (hopefully) any errors corrected.

Ricka182 Member Posts: 3,359There has been no official word on any upgrade that I have heard. It' would be posted here I'm sure there was any coming up soon. Seeing as both books are from the same publisher, it could be just a new edition to cover more than a few errors, or to better clarify what the books already state. I just checked the offical Comptia site, and there was no mention of any upgrade. You should be fine with the 5th edition.i remain, he who remains to be....

According to CertCities, there just may be something in the works. See the articlehttp://certcities.com/editorial/news/story.asp?EditorialsID=986
here.
Having already passed the 220-301 exam, I am damn sure gonna write the 220-302 exam as soon as I feel I am ready."I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." Confucius (c.551-c.479 BC)
