Best modem/router setup for 40 plus devices?

Currently I have about 10 pcs running off a switch wired while there are about 30 devices connected to the wireless modem.

Its almost at its limit and I'm wondering what would be the best setup? Are cisco routers compatible with adsl modems?

You just run the asdl Ethernet line to the fast or gig-e port on the router and run a default route pointing to that interface.

(This would be on any Cisco router I can think of)

So you can use a cisco router as a modem as well? I got told some ISPs dont support certain hardware.

What is your specific problem, the network is congested, you don't have enough bandwidth, or smth else?
You might want to spread the wireless devices over multiple access points

An ADSL modem is generally provided by the ISP and that gives you an RJ-45 port (may it be ethernet, fast/gi ethernet, etc) to be used as you like, even with a Cisco router
However, it is best to check with your ISP directly

Ahh it depends the ISP and and as above said you
would have to call them and asked supported models.

Agreed. Biggest thing to consider for an ISP. Don't expect to plug any modem into your wall and expect it to work without consulting the ISPs supported devices first.

I increased the ip range for the wireless modem so it can handle more devices. Also its plugged into a switch so there are computers connected by Ethernet.

It seems to run ok most of the time but sometimes computers will just get disconnected and they wont be able to reconnect until the modem is rebooted regardless if they are connected wireless or wired.

What would be the best setup modem+router for small business for 40-50 devices? Cisco dont make wireless modems do they? Is linksys the best for small business modems?

Cisco makes some small business wireless routers like the Cisco RV220W Wireless Router.

Like others have stated above, different ISP's will have different methods, around my area they all give out a modem to the customer, then the modem plugs into the router of your choosing. I'm quite fond of the Cisco Small Business RV110W routers. They're relatively inexpensive, wifi coverage is fairly good and they're stable.
