Applicant Screening Software

If you are actively looking for a job and applying online with little to no success, you might benefit from knowing that you may be the victim of some sort of application screening software. I recently attended a hiring event for an organization and found out that my lack of success in my quest to get a job may be due to the issues with the applicant screening software correctly interpreting my resume. Here are some tips:
1) Remove any fancy formatting that you may have on your resume (i.e. gifts, borders, highlights, etc.)
2) Use asterisks as opposed to bullets
3) Do not underline words
4) Use standard fonts (i.e. Arial, times new roman)
5) List experience as follows:
Company Name (from date - to date)
Title
Accomplishments
Finally, this particular organization's screening software would discard the applicant if ALL of the job requirements were not referenced in the resume. Also these requirements should be referenced in the resume the same way that they are in the job requirements ( this means that if you know the entire MS Office suite but the job asks specifically for MS Access you should include "MS Access" in your resume like this "MS Office (MS Access)).
Let me know if you have more to add
I think I might get a chance now.....
