boot sequence (OS exam related question)
hamm3r
one question that REALLY stumped me, and that i really remember, was about the order of which certain system files are booted up in a certain sequence and that you were to specify this sequence through a series of multiple choice questions...
the files were perhaps some of the following, i dont quite remember the exact ones...
IO.SYS
MSDOS.SYS
AUTOEXEC.BAT
COMMAND.COM
CONFIG.SYS
HIMEM.SYS
EMM386.exe
WIN.COM
SYSTEM.INI
WIN.INI
and some registry data files....
SYSTEM.DAT
USER.DAT
The boot sequence doesnt require all of these files, i believe its only 5 or so. The main files i remember that were in the multiple choice answers were AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, MSDOS.SYS, and 2 others.
What is the correct boot sequence...
Im getting my hands on Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 Professional, so that i can experiment with these OSes for my retake, or perhaps if you guys know about emulators, please let me know.

i know some of the basic concepts of IO.SYS, WIN.INI, AUTOEXEC.BAT, COMMAND.COM, and CONFIG.SYS, however i dont really know the details behind the list of files that are above.
