Does anyone have any experience with Leidos? Particularly, a Service Desk Specialist?

SAIC spun off part of their business and created Leidos (or something like that). I applied for a position with them through their website about 2 months ago and haven't heard back-the posting is still listed and accepting applications. I haven't heard anything negative or positive necessarily about Leidos.Certs: CISSP, CISA, PMP -
bpenn Member Posts: 499Well, I dont have experience with Leidos but I also work for a DoD contractor and my position is coded with the same title. I have seen many Leidos positions posted here in Florida and I know a few people on base here where I work that are with Leidos and they havent any complaints. If you are working on a smaller contract, I can imagine you doing Tier 1 and 2 desktop support. Likely, troubleshooting hardware, installing software, setting up printers, maybe even some information assurance like me if you get lucky.
Many DoD service desk jobs give you the opportunity to perform in multiple realms of IT and I would use that to your advantage."If your dreams dont scare you - they ain't big enough" - Life of Dillon -

It depends on if you are at a corporate site or at a client site. I for example work at a client site which is at the mercy of the contract, you are provided the same benefits like the rest of your company but few are actually taken advantage of. Point of reference: I have worked for the same Goverment Project in the same position for 5 years yet I have gone through three different companies and in October it will be my fourth. My pay has fluctuated depending on the company and my tenure resets, meaning I start off at square one with Vacation and vesting for 401k's. -
scaredoftests Mod Posts: 2,780 ModI worked at a government facility where I was brought on board as a temp. That truly sucked. At this place, you were at the mercy of federal employees. There was noone looking out for me (not even the temp agency or the contractor I would be working for after 6 months). One federal worker took a dislike to me and in the 4th month, had me written up. Like how old are we? I saw the writing on the wall and started sending out resumes. 2 months later I was fired.
Now, I am in a different government facility and the difference is like night and day.Never let your fear decide your fate.... -
wtrwlkr Member Posts: 138 ■■■□□□□□□□I was a subcontractor to Leidos in my previous position (actually in bpenn's area). The Leidos guys seemed pretty happy for the most part. I didn't hear too much negative talk from them. They split off from SAIC a couple of years ago. It probably has alot to do with what client site you actually work at. Overall, Leidos seems to be one of the better federal contractors.
