Unable to change configuration register back to 0x2102

in CCNP
Hello,
I am working on a Cisco 1841 router and had to load it’s IOS back onto it using XMODEM due to accidently deleting the IOS from flash.
To speed up the xmodem process I changed the configuration register to 0x3922 and then connected via console with a baud rate of 115200.
The IOS was sent successfully and loads fine, however no matter what I do I can’t get the configuration register back to 0x2102! I tried changing it in rommon, in global config with write mem and a reload after.
No matter what I try I can’t get it back to 0x2102. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Mike J

I actually found the solution. I had to set the line speed on the console port to 9600, then I was able to change the configuration register back to 0x2102. Thanks -

Try setting it to 0x0, reload, then set it to 2102. See if it works
