Need suggestions for PC speakers to buy

So my pc has been without any speakers for 1.5 years. Whenever i need to hear anything i use my iPhone headphones. I'm seriously considering a pair of good speakers, preferably something with a slim design and cheap and decent sound quality. I will be using for general purpose tasks, watching some youtube videos or webinars. Any suggestions, what are you people using?

You can never go wrong with Bose (yes I'm a fanboy). I have the Bose Companion 2 Series 2 computer speakers and they're very crisp audio wise and you can wake up your neighbors next door with the max volume. They've discontinued the Series 2 in favor of the series 3 but you can find them on Amazon or eBay:
