Labs max FA speed is 11meg

Hi Everybody,
I'm at a loss. I can't find anything similar in a Google search. All my switches fast ethernet ports max out at 11meg a second. I have no idea why. Any advice?

Thanks!

Megabits or MegaBytes? 2 ports on the same switch? Same vlan? Any config on the port that takes CPU time?

Try between 2 ports on the switch, with default config & see what you get... My NAS have GBit ports, but get nowhere near max speed on a 2960G.

Unfortunately not all things work as sales & marketing claim.icon_lol.gif

    What's the switch in question?

How are you testing the throughput?

This needs to be answered first.

Max throughput for a fast ethernet interface is 100(Mbit)/8(Bits/Byte) = 12.5 MB/s, which would make your 11MB/s a somewhat reasonable number depending on how you're measuring the throughput.
    Itchy... Tasty!

Are you sure it's not MEGA Bytes per second? 11 x 8 = 88 MEGA Bits per second which is near what you'd expect after TCP / IP Overhead

Also check the obvious such as interface speed and duplex.

How about the show commands for each of the ports.
