There's quite a few of them but competition seems to be pretty stiff. I see the network positions coming in bunches every few months, while the sys admin positions are pretty constant. Has jobsinminneapolis.com helped anyone? I really like the layout but I don't recall ever getting a reply from jobs I applied for on there. I'm in the wrong part of town, NE, while most of the jobs are SW. Can you imagine that cross town drive during traffic hours? I'm guessing at least 90m of stop and go to travel 25 miles. Currently it takes about 30m to travel 10 miles all in the NE.

As proof of this, my husband started looking for a new job on June 21st and already starts his new gig (with a $20k pay raise) on Monday. I decided to go into IT in March and I start my first Help Desk job on Monday. So, wow.

bloodshotbetty wrote: » No, not Saudi Arabia. But it's definitely a male dominated industry and I have already gotten a taste of it. IE, listening to guys talk about "smokin' hot girls" and being called "hunny" a lot. There is unprofessionalism in a lot of fields and it is not limited to IT, but those kinds of things were definitely a change after being in Social Work. More locker room talk, I guess.
bloodshotbetty wrote: » Instead of hun or woman, just use my name. Especially at work. plz.
