It seems like 6 months or so after the official announcement. Since the official announcement still hasn't happened yet...we can only speculate.

Good so I won't get suckered into waiting for it at WGU like I did with Linux+. Planning to test CCNA: Security in August.

Techfiend, my best guess is that the official announcement of the 210-260 will happen between August and November. As TechGuru80 said, there will be a time period after that announcement that the 640-554 will still be available.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm probably behind the curve but often when I hear of new tests it's coming in a month or so with the old one retired in a few months, it's always been comptia though, sec+, net+ and now linux+. Is this news really early then or is this typical of cisco?

I'm guessing CISCO had a 'Windows 8' moment and realized no CISCO professional wants to move away from the flexibility of the command line and their CCP was not very intuitive or useful anyways. I mean why have a Security exam based on a GUI which leaves you vulnerable because it does not implement SNMPv3..seriously!
