New Job

Greetings everyone,

This is an update off of my background check thread.
I received a job offer 2 weeks ago and have been stupid busy at my current job trying to get everything done before I leave. My last day is tomorrow and I start the new job on Monday.

I will be working for a Police Department here in Michigan doing application management. My job offer came in slightly better than what I expected to receive. Plus the benefits package is fantastic.

Interesting facts - I wasn't searching for this job, it found me. TekSystem's contacted me off of an old resume I had in their system. It can pay to work with a recruiter.
I would never go through that background check again unless I knew I had the job. It's a bit nerve wracking.

Take care

Congrats! Sounds interesting. I agree with the recruiter bit, also. I have been contacted via old resumes in the system though none of the positions were any good. Good luck in your new job!

Congrats on the new gig! I definitely agree with you about working with a recruiter. I started a new gig in a couple of weeks and I landed it through a recruiter. Good guy and even offered me a $200 gift card if I stay at the new gig for at least 90 days.

Congratulations!! If you thought the PD background check was a PITA, I would recommend avoiding anything involving a security clearance. lol.
