Convinced my employer to pay for certs!

Just wanted to share the news with someone that cares 
My company is squarely medium sized (50 employees, $20M annual revenue) but in some cases is still run like a small business. Not having benefits beyond extended health coverage (basic coverage is done by the government, seeing as I'm Canadian) was one of these.
I've prompted my direct manager for something like a training budget and/or certs, gave him a list. He had to run it by the CFO and CTO.
Well, today I got the green light!
Starting with RHCSA, then CEH, then most likely RHCE (I do a lot of the things covered in it on a daily basis). After that, who knows, but it's still an extra about $2,000 in money I'd have had to spend after you factor in the weak Loonie.

That's Excellent news. paying for these exams out of pocket is difficult for me. Go for it now that you have the funding your certs should pile up now. Congrats and all the best in your studies.

More and more I realize how lucky I am to have my current employer.
They pay for necessary training (got a VMware ICM course paid for this year), they reimburse you for any cert exam taken and passed. And we get $500 bonus for the tougher certs, such as if I pass the CCNP, that's all 3 exams paid for and a cool 500 extra.
We are a much smaller company too. Too bad my base salary is on the lower side, everything else is pretty awesome. -

Awesome. My current employer reimburses for all exams passed. I wish there were more hours in the day so I could have taken better advantage of that over the years.
