With most VMware exams - the best resources are the > Blueprint < and > Documentation <.

You can also find HOLs for NSX and an online trial to play with.

The beauty of HOL is that you don't need to install anything.

Just sign up and load the labs. VMware Learning Platform

Not without buying .. We are Enterprise Partner and we don't even get a NFR licenses. We had to go via VMware Engineering to be able to get a legal install (I mean how else are we supposed to design and sell it without actually installing ourselves).

I PRESUME one reason VMware does not allow the download of actual binaries is that the licensing isn't enforced so the product won't stop functioning without license / expired licenses :

VMware KB: How to license VMware NSX for vSphere 6.0.x and 6.1.x
License keys for NSX are displayed as Per CPU on the My VMware License Keys Page. However, once licensed, keys are identified as Per Virtual Machine on the web or the vSphere Client. There is no hard enforcement on the number of Virtual Machines licensed and the product will be under compliance.
