Not sure if this has ever been posted here before. CDW has an apprenticeship program for those with minimal experience, wanting to get into networking.

All they have around here is Microsoft Messaging ACE's and they regularly contact me on LinkedIn. I don't think you can go very far with microsoft messaging, Skype?

It also seems like a training program to get into sales but I could be wrong.

I don't see where it's a Sales job. The first paragraph says, "CDW Associate Consulting Engineers (ACE) focusing in Cisco Network/Data Center are trained by our Professional Services Engineers on enterprise level networking and data center solutions for customers including:
    • Designing, planning, and implementing LANs and WANs using routers, switches, network security devices, and protocol analyzers."
Also, there is good money in Microsoft Messaging, if we're talking Exchange and Lync.

Heck of a lot more interesting to me then what I'm getting.

This entry level role focuses across the following technologies; Exchange, Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Online to support solutions for CDWs customer Messaging and Collaboration needs. This customer facing professional services engineering role starts with foundational skills in Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange and Office 365, then expands focus to include emerging technologies such as Azure and SharePoint Online, and lastly broadens scope with introductory skills in web services, API’s and .Net.

Customer facing seems like sales. There's also this under requirements.
    · Strong oral and written communication skills, including verbal presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
    · Travel expected, varies by local office throughout the U.S., up to 50%

Glassdoor has them about what I'm making now per hour as a sys admin. I don't know if it's worth it to me to spend 18 months doing this but it does say entry-level too. It's much more interesting then Aston Technologies though, at least you aren't living out of a suitcase but some may see that as a perk.
