I finally sign up once again for the exam.
After 6 months of taking off and really thinking about what i missed. I told myself to try again. I started to study this week little by little since I have family and work. My exam date is on the 30 of next month. Hopefully that's enough time to really study.
Well keep you guys posted since this will be my second 3rd time taking the exam. My highest score I received so far is 500. I'm really wishing i pass this time around.

techfiend Member Posts: 1,481 ■■■■□□□□□□Good luck! I'm currently studying for it and it's definitely the most difficult cert test I've studied for judging by the boson practice tests even though I work with 2012 on a daily basis. I have a feeling it's only going to get more complicated as time goes by.2018 AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (Apr) 2017 VCAP6-DCV Deploy (Oct) 2016 Storage+ (Jan)

I do need to find me a good pre-test exam site that I could study some questions.2018 Goals: 70-410 [X], 70-411 [],70-412 [] 410- Passed!!!!!!

josh.armentrout1 Member Posts: 36 ■■■□□□□□□□I feel your pain brother. When I sat for this exam, I was sweating bullets the whole way through. I hit the cut score exactly on the head. A "perfect pass" if you will. The 411, I did much better. The 412, I failed by a couple points. These are tough exams. Just do your best.

I'm studying for this exam too.
For practice tests have you tried Measure up or transcender? When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened."

nascar_paul Member Posts: 288 ■■■□□□□□□□I actually passed this one (on the second attempt - thanks Second Shot!) but it's taken me about three months to get back up in the saddle after it. It's a real beast because it covers SO MUCH! Good luck, and remember to LAB, LAB, LAB! That's what always pulls me through! I won't have PERFECT knowledge of every option on every screen, but I can rule out a lot of the obvious (and sometimes NOT so obvious) wrong answers.2017 Goals: 70-411 [X], 74-409 [X], 70-533 [X], VCP5-DCV [], LX0-103 [], LX0-104 []

Louie1277 Member Posts: 505 ■■■□□□□□□□See that's my thing I start to over think things and bammm there goes my score. Right now i'm just getting about 30 mins of study time at night. But i'm so tired that I had to take 2 days off. I'm going to start studying at work today to catch up.
I will check out the Boson site and see how that goes. Hopefully it's not like transcender i believe that's the software. I used that and thought dammm the exam is going to be hard. But those questions didn't even match the exam. Oh well it's a hit and miss ...2018 Goals: 70-410 [X], 70-411 [],70-412 [] 410- Passed!!!!!!

There are a lot of questions on RODC and Azure so make sure you have prepared for those. -

techfiend Member Posts: 1,481 ■■■■□□□□□□Passed today, it was a pretty brutal test. I thought I was going to fail when I clicked end test but managed an 820. I didn't really see any azure or rodc. I used:
MCSA Windows Server 2012 R2 Complete Study Guide: Exams 70-410, 70-411, 70-412, and 70-417: William Panek: 9781118859919: Amazon.com: Books ok but not nearly deep enough
MCSA 70-410 Cert Guide R2: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012: Don Poulton, David Camardella: 9780789748805: Amazon.com: Books by far the best book I read, really digs deep. This alone may be enough.

Off to 70-411! I see there's not quite as many study guides out for it, hope to find a good one.2018 AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (Apr) 2017 VCAP6-DCV Deploy (Oct) 2016 Storage+ (Jan)

Louie1277 Member Posts: 505 ■■■□□□□□□□Well congrats on passing the exam. I have 2 of the books you are talking about. You're right the ref book doesn't really help much. But the

Does help. At the moment i'm reading "Training Guide:Installing and configuration windows server 2012 r2 training guide"
The book so far is good but I think i will try the one you mention once i'm done. I'm half way so hopefully by the end of the weekend i should be done.2018 Goals: 70-410 [X], 70-411 [],70-412 [] 410- Passed!!!!!!

innocentdevil Member Posts: 6 ■□□□□□□□□□There were about at least 6 questions relating to RODC. Make sure you prepare questions about that i.e: dsadd, UPN.
There were also questions about Azure domain addition, Federated trusts from on premise to the cloud.
And the other questions I got were about Group Policy.
I have got a free second shot booked for first week in Oct so hoping that I will nail through then only 411 for MCSA as I already have 74-409.
Good luck. -
techfiend Member Posts: 1,481 ■■■■□□□□□□The training guide I read good things about. I'm going to use it for the 70-411 and hopefully it's a good replacement for the Poulton book that seems like it won't exist for 70-411. I wouldn't recommend the Panek book, I think at one time it may have been a decent 3-in-1 book but there's a lot on the test that wasn't in it. I'm going to use it as an introduction to each test before moving onto another book because it has some good labs and it's available while I'm enrolled at WGU, it's also a quick read, maybe 10 hours per test. If you guys are in school make sure to get the student discount at microsoft, it's about 40% off.2018 AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (Apr) 2017 VCAP6-DCV Deploy (Oct) 2016 Storage+ (Jan)

kevb1981 Member Posts: 11 ■□□□□□□□□□I passed today with 740. The last 5 questions were RODC questions, Didn't get any on Azure. I used CBT nugget videos, and complete MCSA training. I found it hard as I have never worked with servers before. this is my first step in to a career move into IT. Im having a well deserved weekend off, then going to start smashing the 70-411.

Well congrats. Wish I had the same luck you had. This time will be my 3rd time. Been reading almost every day couple hours or somewhat 30 mins. So much different info going from one book to other book.

If you don't mind my asking, how long did you study for before you took the test? Hours per day? -
kevb1981 Member Posts: 11 ■□□□□□□□□□sorry for late reply. I am lucky with the job I have at the moment. I was smashing at least 7 hours a day. I studied for 2 months before I took the test.

My date has changed. Found out I will not be in town that day because of family stuff. I pushed it out other 20 days. That should give me some more time to review more stuff. I am actually viewing it as a win, considering I took it on two weeks' notice and have a free Second Shot. There are obviously some questions I got stuck on.
