Mastering VMware Horizon 6, Mastering VMware vSphere 6, and I recently deployed a View 6 environment.

Though not with Mirage. I don't think anybody uses Mirage.

    Hah! I stand corrected.

Did those resources work pretty well? I plan on taking this as my next cert since I'm supporting View. I have a Books 24x7 account too.

My colleague actually wrote a book on mirage. Google Curtis Brown, Xtravirt and Mirage :)
My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com :p

Well I'll have to look that book up. Mirage is killing my score. The resources were good enough. It was me that wasn't. Brush up on your ESXi too.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
So there's a lot of ESXi and vSphere questions? I took the ICM for vSphere and a bunch of other classes so hopefully my knowledge of that is good enough for this. I'm working with View now, so I'll have to mess around with Mirage.

Just do some brush up. I really need to reschedule.

Any Free study material for VmWare Mirage around ?
  • WagnaardWagnaard Member Posts: 124
Vmware has manuals and guids, as well as some labs.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
I think I may try to take this sometime next week depending on how long approval takes.

I signed up to take it again at the end of the month. If I fail again I'm going back to janitorial work.

I need to take it as well... Been slacking on the certification front, need to get back into it!

I already read through a few Horizon 6 books, I have a fully functioning lab... Only thing I need to install and learn is the mirage app, I've never done any Mirage work so will be nice to learn something new.

Good luck! Let us know how you do. I'm still waiting on my manager to waive the ICM for me.

And if you become a janitor I'm sure you'll be one of those ones that see equations on a chalk board and solve them. icon_wink.gif

I've already gotten the Boston accent.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
How did it go? I finally got the ICM and Foundations exam all done.
  • WagnaardWagnaard Member Posts: 124
Ibombed. I don't know what the hell is wrong. I've taken a bunch of exams before, including VMware ones. I'm retaking it one more time before I become a janitor.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
What types of questions did you struggle on specifically?
  • WagnaardWagnaard Member Posts: 124
Mirage and Workspace. I've never had any real experience with those, so book learning and some labbing weren't enough for my puerile brain to absorb it.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
I've got the exam scheduled for Saturday. I'm kind of in the same boat. I support View so I'm confident I should be able to answer most of those questions, but I don't have much experience with Mirage or Workspace either.
  • WagnaardWagnaard Member Posts: 124
I don't think I'm breaking NDA by telling you to pay close attention to Mirage and Workspace, and the way these products integrate.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
Yeah that's what the blueprint says. Hopefully I can pass. Looking like I may have an opportunity outside VMware so might be my only chance to get it for free.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
I passed with a 385. Since I work with View that part was easy. Struggled on the mirage and workspace questions though.
  • WagnaardWagnaard Member Posts: 124
    Congrats dude.
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
Thanks. Let me know if I can help at all.

i have used CBT Nuggets Vids on View.

but did not cover both Mirage or workspace, what study guides did you use for them ?
  • markulousmarkulous Member Posts: 2,394 ■■■■■■■■□□
I used Mastering Horizon 6 as my study guide. Then I used the blueprint for this cert and went through the admin guides on both products. Admin guides go into quite a bit of detail and the book gives a nice overview.
