VMWare Workstation Virtual network - Setting up a firewall VM
I've been trying to get a fortigate firewall appliance working in vmware workstation. The virtual machine aspect is fine, it's just I can't get the networking side of it to work properly at the moment.
VMnet 0 is bridged to a adpater on my laptop and vmnet 1 has the subnet 10.255.254.0/24 with .1 being the gateway.
On my Fortigate I am using the vmnet 1 subnet as the 'inside' interface (10.255.254.254/24) and vmnet 0 as outside interface.
I have configured a inside to outside policy for the interfaces and a static route.
Anyone have any idea how to get this working on either VMWare Workstation or with ESXi 5.5 alongside VSphere?
I have a physical unit working at work....
