Traffic Engineering Tunnel Is Unidirectional

In that case will a ping be successful for unidirectional traffic?
Can there be a return path that is in a different order?

A ping is never successful if you only have unidirectional connectivity. Normally, you have a return path as well. What you'll find when you get to this topic is that tools like ping and traceroute don't work the same when they are used in an MPLS network.

Yes, absolutely, but that can be the case in a pure IP network as well.
