Business degree and certificates, will I get a entry IT job?

Hello,
I got my A+ in August and studying for network+ currently. I don't have any IT experience and have a B.S in business. I put out my resume and checked on some entry Helpdesk positions and it required experiences in certain technologies. I'm very interested in the networking area for my career. However, not having a degree in IT, will it hurt me eventually? Should I study for the cisco or Microsoft certificates next? I'm just worried and a bit lost on where to start to find experience. Thank you.

It shouldn't matter what field your degree is in for now, possibly in a more specialized position they may ask for a computer science or IT degree. Your main focus should be building experience, it may come from building a few virtual windows or Linux servers then practicing getting them to communicate and maybe putting some security settings on them.

Microsoft or ccna is really up to you, they both take you in very different directions, what interests you?
