Wow, that would be surprising but I've never heard anything about them so I suppose it's not that shocking. Not every large tech company can be great to work for. -

Other than that they seem pretty happy, it's likely a place to collect a nice paycheck and add a big name to your resume but I wouldn't expect a long career there if you have big aspirations.
Surprisingly Amazon's IT department hasn't met one deadline yet and it's caused many headaches. They've been very sloppy and I was looking forward to working with them.2018 AWS Solutions Architect - Associate (Apr) 2017 VCAP6-DCV Deploy (Oct) 2016 Storage+ (Jan)

This is a 4+ year subsidiary, so it's not like the Amazon culture hasn't permeated yet. Like any other company, each team is different. There are probably a large number of IT teams within Amazon. I can only imagine that each team is influenced heavily by the management style of their leadership.

Archon Member Posts: 183 ■■■□□□□□□□I had an interview with them a few months ago. The interview process was far too long, the role wasn't that exciting and the pay wasn't that great either. I decided to take another job instead.

Blackout Member Posts: 512 ■■■■□□□□□□I normally go through the interview process just to gain experience, even if I don't plan on jumping to a new job. But my main goal in life is a good work/life balance, although the benefits and pay are nice, without time with my son it amounts to nothing. Basically told them no to the interview.Current Certification Path: CCNA, CCNP Security, CCDA, CCIE Security

DoubleNNs Member Posts: 2,015 ■■■■■□□□□□That's the only thing about Amazon. It seems like their culture carries a huge risk for burnout. Would be a great place to learn for 1-3 years before moving on, and thus probably feel like the pace at other subsequent jobs are slow. However, doesn't seem like their pay nor perks are as high as I would think they'd be. Which is unfortunate.Goals for 2018:

Dakinggamer87 Member Posts: 4,016 ■■■■■■■■□□I was contacted by Amazon for an interview as a Network Technician but the hours/pay didn't match up with my needs of a balanced work/life role. Here is a link of reviews via Glassdoor for those curious of other employees experiences:

I'm sure everyone that has worked there or had any interaction with them will be different on a person by person basis but the general consensus I see seems mixed from the various viewpoints from other members and my own personal experience.*Associate's of Applied Sciences degree in Information Technology-Network Systems Administration

I ended up turning down the job. -
