Router Ping-Pong Confusion

What interface dose the ping command uses by default if a router has multiple IP interfaces inducing loopbacks.

I understand you can select source and destination using the extended ping commands.

I'm pretty sure that by default it'll use the IP address of which ever interface the packets will be squirted out of, unless specified in the extended commands.
