about 2003 Upgrade

I will take the A+ test soon. After that,do I need to take the second exam after the 2003 Upgrade goes into effect?

Nope - once you have that A+ cert it is yours.

Understand that A+ requires TWO exams to complete certification. Because the 2003 upgrade is not considered a rewrite, you can complete one under 2001 and one under 2003 and still qualify.

rules rules, as i remember them, are that candidates can write exams using exams based on 2001 and 2003 objectives and mix-and-match as need-be.

comptia will probably not started examining with the new objectives until the beginning of next year.
