CHFI Study Material
I have been reading the forums here regarding the Boot Camps for CHFI or purchasing the study material. I been on the EC-Council site but couldn't really find where to get the study material
I would like to know how to get my hands on the study material. The prices for this boot camp is a bit over my limit.
Can anyone point my in the right direction, please?
Thanks!

The collection of study materials that I've come up with that comes close to matching the exam objectives are the following:
1. Incident Response: Investigating Computer Crime
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005Y1LV/qid=1149179222/sr=12-6/103-3518739-7328637?s=books&v=glance&n=551440
2. Hacking Exposed Computer Forensics

3. http://www.vtc.com/
They have a CBT (which you can buy or take online) that goes over basic computer forensics. They are suppose to come out with a part 2 that covers advanced forensics sometime soon and will be geared towards CHFI certification. Another good thing about their online course is that you can take numerous other courses at the same time. So you could take their Linux+ online course at the same time.
Anyway, the alternate method should bring you at $200 dollars or LESS. -

Oh, and don't forget that Google is your friend, lots of free information floating around.
I bought the book, and from what little I have had a chance to read, it's a very decent book. Lots of information.

Ah... The Exam Prep book is for CEH and not the CHFI exam. There are some things that are on both exams, but for the most part the CHFI exam is different. If you only study the CEH exam objectives than you will fail the CHFI test. Check the EC-Council website to see the difference. Computer forensics is a "different animal", but just as important in order for you to become a "complete" security professional. -
OpenSource Member Posts: 135Man, I feel like such as an idiot. I was in such a hurry and I am so used to people asking about where to get CEH materials (don't ask), that I didn't even notice you were asking about the CHFI and NOT the CEH exam.
My suggestion, I've seen more and more electronic/computer forensic books in stores these days so check your local bookstores, either computer or science sections. I've also seen them over by the social science sections for some reason... My other suggestion, try places like Amazon and search for Computer Forensics. NerdBooks also has a few forensics books.
BTW: I do think information you learn in the CEH exam would be useful in computer forensics, especially stuff like footprinting and collecting information.
