Hi,
Plan on labbing for Switch with 4 switches, 2 L2 & 2L3.
Is this switch good enough for L3 and does it have all the required features?
CISCO CATALYST WS-C3550-48-SMI 48 PORT SWITCH
Image is 12.1 although I plan on upgrading this to 12.2

The 3550 won't do Private VLANs, IPv6, VTPv3, VRRP, or GLBP.
Per this site (
CCNP Switch IOS Features
)...12.1EA will not do IP SLAs, IP Source Guard, Dynamic ARP Inspection (DAI), VLAN ACLs (VACLs), or Port Security, but they ARE SUPPORTED in 12.2SE.
A 3560 or 3750 with the latest supported 12.2SE IOS should cover 100% of the topics.

ok good to know. Thanks for your reply. With the amount of stuff not covered, I'd be as well sticking with PT. I'll hold out for one of the models you have mentioned.
