December 28, 2015 will be the release of the two new Skype for Business exams (333 and 334) that replace their Lync Server 2013 counterparts (335 and 336).

The older Lync Server 2013 exams will officially retire on March 31, 2016 and you have until July 31, 2016 to complete any other necessary requirement to utilize the Lync Server 2013 exams towards MCSE: Communications.

Lastly, recertification will indeed be available via Microsoft Virtual Academy. So, if you have been studying, its time to get the Lync exams knocked out or start studying for the SfB exams.
