Unable to return to Terminal Console

Hey all,
So tonight when I finshed setting up my lab in Putty, I attempted to return to my 2509s menu using the CTRL+SHIFT+6+X combo, but it didn't work. tried it in Tera Term, no go. Amy ideas on what else I should try?

How are you pressing the keys? Remember to press CTRL+SHIFT+6 then release, then press X.

From my experience, sometimes you have to press it multiple times.

How sure are you that it is not working ? I ask because unless you type disconnect and press enter as the next command after that key sequence it will just put you right back in.
Also make sure you are performing this as koz24 mentioned, otherwise it won't work either.
