Just took Sybex Practice Exam #1 - Scored a 75.20%
I thought I'd review the exam and then finish up flash cards. I've completed 500 of 688 flashcards.

Any other helpful ideas/suggestions? Thanks guys. Just want to make sure I'm on the right track this time. I'm about 2 weeks out.

Thanks Click! Best of luck to you too!!
How are you doing on the Sybex exams? I got a 75% on the first one and just got a 70% on the second.
Not feeling great about the 70%, but IDK, maybe that's OK. I'm going to review it later this afternoon and take the 3rd one tomorrow or Friday. What do you think of Transcender?

Thanks man. I've been scoring in the 80s with the Sybex exams and i also rotate with Transcender and CCCURE and been scoring in the mid 80s there as well. It can't hurt to mix it up but one thing i noticed is for all 3, there is a big emphasis on details, which we both know we won't see on the test. So i guess we have to take what we can, learn from our past mistakes and plow through this next one with the manager mindset :) which to tell you the truth was what i deviated from i think on my last attempt. At any rate, i'll be praying for you on the 11th man, look forward to your PASS post :)

Thanks! I have it scheduled for the 15th. I'm wondering if should reschedule if next weekend not feeling great about.
Ya I know. Manager mindset! :)
Are you doing the Sybex exams - 250 questions at a time?
I just took Bonus exam 2 today and then clicked a wrong button after done/before reviewing and lost the results screen. So I couldn't go back and review incorrect ones.
Are they pulling from all 1000 test bank questions and jumbling for each exam or just scrambling the 250 questions per exam?
    Thanks man!

Sorry jason, i meant your exam on the 15th, thanks bpenn for that. I've been using the Sybex pool - 50 at a time and haven't had a chance to do the bonus exams yet, so far, i've been getting pretty diverse questions and minimal repeats so i think it pulls from the 1000 test bank as you said. Also doing 50 at a time from transcender which has 900 and CCCURE which has i think 1500+. Hope that helps. I have mine scheduled for the 23rd and i just want to get this over with :)

Also, i know this is old but it really helped me get a better understanding of the mindset of how the questions are supposed to be read - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_gJ8XUHQbs&t=94 - which was my biggest enemy from the past 2 tries, i didn't really pay attention to what was being asked coz i was either rushing or plain old blanked out.... just thought it might help your prep as well. Cheers.

Now when you say the Sybex pool do you mean the questions from this site: https://sybextestbanks.wiley.com/public/index/login?page=register

I'm using the questions under "Practice Exams" tab. That's where the Bonus Exam's are.

    djasonslick,

Hang in there I'm studying right now for the exam looking to test in late April/early May. I failed the first exam last year right before they made the switch and I have to admit it discouraged me a lot which caused the long layoff. It was the first time I had failed on an certification exam not to mention my wife and I just welcome our first child in late November so my free time has been consumed adjusting as a new parent. I finally feel as though I'm getting to come up for air and started studying Feb 1. I'm using the Sybex 7th Edition and I'm right towards the end of Chapter 8. After completing the book I plan to go through the flashcards. I actually just put in a customer trouble ticket because the link in the back of the book to download the study tools takes me to a link to buy the book instead not sure what's going on there. The good thing for you is that you have done better each time you have taken the exam so let that be your positive you literally were a question or two from passing it. Stick with it and you will pass the exam that's what I keep telling myself to keep a positive outlook on this entire process.

Sorry to hear about this, which domains were you weak in? When you are doing a practice exam, do you go back through after and read the explanation of the right answer?

This time my weakest domain was communications and network security. It's been different every time. Yes I would go back and review in correct answers.
