CISM Info and Prep

I am new to this posting area. I found techexams.net extremely helpful in securing the right resources and review for passing the CISSP exam, which I passed 12/22. My manager has now asked me to look into the CISM for 2016. Here are a few questions.

How much if any overlap is there within both CISM and CISSP?
Is there a bootcamp or training class for CISM?
I'm also interested in study materials, practice exams, etc.What are the best?
Is the test a paper test?

CISSP has 8 domains . CISM has 4 CISM is non-technical focused on risk management, governance and program management. If you have done well on those domains in CISSP then you are 50-60% there

Yes boot camp. Not sure if it is helpful. I suggest studying on your own first then then using bootcamp as a refresh. ISACA has a training course with your local chapter, InfoSec has one, Secure Ninja has one.

ISACA Official study guide is the best. you should also purchase the ISACA Test Question DB (I would say a must). Both can me purchased from ISACA or Amazon.

Best way to study for ISACA exams is the official study guides & questions and answers books (or databases if you don't like paper). the book is better as a real-life work reference and has a little bit of value for the exam, so I still recommend it. Q&A are essential for passing the exam IMO. Test is the high school scantron form you know and love.

Read the manual.. practice questions from DB . aim for minimum 80% without memorization of questions and you will do just fine on the test.

What about a bootcamp or online training? Any recommendations?

I've not seen anyone used online training, and very few bootcamps exist for this particular test. Q&A DB is the way to go, IMO.

Thanks, I enjoyed my CISSP classroom training and was looking to repeat for CISM, but looks like may not be available.

I took a CISSP boot camp with trainingcamp.com just for the extra boost and I thought they were very professional and the instructor was exceptional.

I'm taking the CISM boot camp in June as an extra boost for the CISM exam.

If you mean the CISM, I'm not taking the boot camp/exam until June 2016.

For the CISSP, I took the class in Vienna, VA (Washington, DC) and my instructor was Jason Lee. He kicked ass.

The best exam resources are the CISM Review Manual and CISM Review QAE (12 month subscription).
I purchased them from https://www.isaca.org/bookstore/Pages/CISM-Exam-Resources.aspx

No experience with 3rd party training or boot camp.
