Do I need to know the commands for syslog configuration for the ccent ?
I did not see syslog mentioned in the blueprint,though
saw the commands below in the lammle book.
Router(config)#logging host 193.10.40.1
Router(config)#service timestamps log datetime msec

if I'm right, syslog configuration isn't part of ICND1, only ICND2. -

I do not recall reviewing it for the ICND1. If it was mentioned then I didn't see it or I just forgot about it.Cisco: CCENT COLOR=#ff0000]✔✔✔ 74-409 COLOR=#ff0000]✔ || VMWare: VCP [ ] -

!
service timestamps log datetime localtime show-timezone year
logging buffered 16000
logging host { IP of Syslogserver}
logging source-interface {Interface that LAN IP is on}

pinkiaiii Member Posts: 216there is topic on configuring clocks on routers to synchronize correct time-most likely for when getting to part of syslogs and being able to get right timing from log events,but thats only topic of one page there was to it,so its correct that it would be covered in semester 3-4 or after ccent.
