Can I also use any cheap SFP Module for Cisco Switches?

Do you guys know if this switch module also fits into Cisco Switches?

Lets say I would buy this:
(HP ProCurve - H4859C-LX 1000BASE LX LC Mini-GBIC Module (20km, 1310nm) - J4859C | eBay)
or I found another, seems to be the same just cheaper.
(HP ProCurve - J4859C 1000BASE LX LC Mini-GBIC Module (10km, 1310nm) | eBay)

Will this work for other devices than HP?

Not sure about the hp ones. I know some 3rd party ones work depending on the switch but reliability is always in the air. On higher end switches it spits out an error message when the sfp is inserted.

Are you asking if it will fit or if it will work?

Will it fit? Yes, it will fit. SFP is a standard, all SFPs will fit into all SFP ports.
Will it work? Maybe, it will definitly give you errors and you might have to hack it.
    Is it supported? No

Don't know, be sure the other end can do 1Gbps. With SFPs I'm pretty sure you have to match the speeds.

I've had issues with non-Cisco SFPs on a Cisco switch. You have to enter the following for it to work:

    service unsupported-transceiver
    no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid

If you don't care about support, get the cheapest SFP you can find that works. The two SFPs you mentioned are 20km SFPs and 10km SFPs. I've never heard of 20km SFPs until now but I assume it just shoots hotter. Get the 10km if you have a short fiber run.
