VMware Web Client: why is it 'still' so slow..

DeathmageDeathmage Banned Posts: 2,496
Is it just me or is the Web Client still a chore to use on a daily basis?

I find myself forcing myself to use it for ESXi 6.0 content but the slowness of the dam thing compared to the C# thick client is just too much at times.

Is it just me? icon_cry.gif

Flash among other things. VMWare has started down a dark, unsustainable road. I've never seen anyone met anyone that likes the web client.

For View, it usually performs great, but for whatever reason the web client for vSphere doesn't seem as quick as the thick client. Most people I run across avoid the web client still.

That is why I always use the fat client then install Guacamole (at least at home and work lab) because the web performance is amazingly better.

Interesting, maybe I'll check out guac. When I switched from IE and firefox to chrome the performance was noticeably improved but still sluggish.

Google "Guacamole install script" and download version guacamole-install-script.v099-b2.sh
It will do the whole install for you. You just need a CentOS VM to run it on.
