Hey guys trying to figure out what to go for as far as equipment for the home lab is concerned. Myself and a buddy are wanting to get the CCNA and we want to have all needed equipment at the house. What do yall think of this...

wildfire Member Posts: 654Ok first off the 1900 switches are no longer on the CCNA exam its based around the 29XX series so a 2924XL or 2950 would be more suited.
Second this is fairly expensive for what it is. Really for a home lab I suggest 3 routers, its always a bit of gamble purchasing equipment from ebay.
A couple of thoughts to consider, www.ciscokits.com are a good company who a lot of members on this forum praise, however their ready made kits are at a premium.
If you want to save a bit of cash look to pick up individual items on ebay, be carefull though as some older routers may have older IOS's and low RAM so you may have to splash some cash to get them up to scratch.
Have a look through this forum and you will lots of posts about CCNA equipment.
