Organizations for Security Professionals
The_Expert
It seems that every job has a professional organization one can join.. For example, Project Managers can join PMI etc.
As a fairly new Security Analyst - what organizations are out there worth joining?
I've found ISSA so far... Are they worth their dues? Any others worth considering?
Thanks!

There's actually a similar conversation that's going on right now too:

ISSA-I joined ISSA and found it OK, but not great
Infragard
ISACA (policy/governance based-not very technical)
OWASP
Here's a link to some meet ups too:

local isc2, isaca chapters. generally speaking, local IT groups you can find on LinkedIn. Lots of focus on security in the ones by me lately. also good for marketing/networking for your next job!

I use Meetup.com app on my smartphone and have joined 3 groups. OWASP, Security and Compliance Meetup and NAISG.
