We are living in a time of dynamic change in our industry. Our respective roles have evolved and are now absolutely critical in helping organizations ensure world-class capability. ISACA must evolve as well to best serve you.
With this commitment in mind, we are pleased to share some exciting news with you today. ISACA has acquired CMMI® Institute, a global leader in the advancement of best practices in people, process and technology. CMMI Institute is the organization behind the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), a globally adopted capability improvement framework that guides organizations in high-performance operations. It provides tools and support for organizations to benchmark their capabilities by comparing their operations to best practices and identifying performance gaps.
By joining forces, we broaden our reach in helping organizations optimize their use of technology, increase value for their stakeholders and improve business performance. For you—our member–that means we can better help you raise levels of enterprisewide performance.
This acquisition is a smart investment for ISACA and our members, and will benefit the individuals and enterprises that ISACA and CMMI Institute serve. We will continue to run the organizations separately, with CMMI Institute operating as a subsidiary. However, we will work closely to identify and maximize opportunities to work together in ways that will benefit our members—including new IP generation and potential expansion of current and future programs.
We invite you to learn more here, where you will find a full news announcement, more information about CMMI Institute and an FAQ. If you have additional questions, please send them to news@isaca.org and we will be glad to address them.
We hope you share our enthusiasm for this news and will take advantage of the innovative products and resources that will come as a result of this new relationship. We will keep you updated as they become available. 2016 is sure to be a big year.

For example in the case of evaluating service management maturity you have different choices: CMMI for Services, AXELOS-ITIL Maturity assessment and TIPA.
From ISACA's commercial point of view, looking at what they have done with the CSX certifications, it would make sense to have at least 2 certification leves for each of the CMMI models (Services, Development, Data management, Acquisition, People)
Other possibility that could make sense is to have a higher integration of CMMI models in COBIT Framework.
