I don't envy the choice. It sounds exciting, but it's a big move. Hopefully it's not Adelaide or Sydney ;)

Jesus no not Adelaide icon_lol.gif wait what's wrong with Sydney? :p

Sydney is like a supermodel with a serious drug problem: it has natural beauty, but is squandering it through continual bad choices. Property is ridiculously expensive, even for rental. Traffic is terrible. Public transport is ok, if you live in an area where you either don't need it or have so much money you wouldn't use it. All the nice parts are so far away from where you can afford to live, that you may as well live in any part of generic suburbia in the country....

So, yeah, a 30% raise could live you worse off from a lifestyle perspective. No overtime won't matter if it's a 45min-1.5 hour commute anyway...

@OctalDump: haha Whoa!! I think we're confusing our American friends now icon_lol.gif I'll PM you!

but in general, long commutes are a big no in my books! hence why I live closer to the city, with access to public transport. I get to save on car and petrol money, and I save brain cells not having to deal with traffic on a daily basis. I pay little bit more to be closer to the city, and my lifestyle choices dictates that I stay closer to the city and away from the suburbs.

On another note, I've been recently to both Sydney and Perth, and man I think they have decent coffee now.
