Starting my Journey Again!

Hello all,

Well last night I decided to start my journey once again. I have failed the 70-410 exam 3 times. This time around it will be my 4th try. It's been about 2 months now that I took a break from really getting any studies in. I was very upset the last time I didn't pass and gave up. After really thinking about my weak points and over thinking about the exam I told myself that I would try again.

I have all the updated material I need plus access to the pluralsight site for a trial. I'm going to check out the videos and see if they are better then CBT. I didn't really like the cbt because of the extra family stories James was talking about.

My goal at the moment is to study at least 2 hours a day or more. At work i have free time that I could study, and run my VM's on my laptop. I'm giving myself to Mid May or end of May to take the exam. This time around I'm really going to put more work and less time BSing around. lol....

I am with you on this one! I also failed 3 times... I will be using PluralSight and creating a lab based on their videos. Although my set up is kinda weak with only 8gb in my Lenovo Y700, I will be adding RAM eventually. I also plan to read PowerShell in a Month of Lunches.

    Goodluck!

Good luck, man! 410 was pretty well balanced exam for me. I wasn't that well prepared,I was aware of that. I passed, but barely.
Now i'm wrestling with 411. Hopefully I'll be done with it in a few weeks. Funny thing about me is that I have tons of free time but I'm the biggest slacker you'll ever meet. From the 8 hours a day I work, at least 5 are free time for me. I try to study as much as I can but after 1-2 hours facebook and 9gag get the best of me

Good luck! I passed it on my fourth try so don't be discouraged, you can do it. I would also like to share my notes that I used while reviewing: https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=7CE4B3CCE502F053!729&ithint=onenote%2c&app=OneNote&authkey=!ADeU3weqvs7l-y4

I suggest to make flash cards on the different terminologies, step by step process on how to accomplish things, and location of a particular option (example: what are the options under the DNS server properties vs zone properties).

The Pluralsight videos with Greg Shields and Jason Helmick are very helpful. I've never used CBT but I've heard the guy wastes a lot of time with a bunch of nonsense that doesn't have anything to do with the exam. Try to come up with your own scenarios as well and lab them out. If there's a checkbox on a tab or a setting you're not quite sure about what it does and it's not covered in any of your training materials don't assume it's not relevant to the exam; look it up and research it for yourself. I wouldn't have passed that exam had I not done my own research on a lot of things. Good luck!
    All the best,

Stick with it, study, everything, I passed 410 on second try and 411 on second try, and 412 on my fourth try, it is no joke hard. Good luck.

Thanks everyone for the advice and good feedback. I just starting getting my lab back on track. Making templates I could clone in vmware. Started to watch the videos and so far it's going along good.

tmurphy3100 I started to create the lab but got lost when he said he already had a domain setup. He kind of skipped that part of building the first domain and adding more machines to it.

@kengjames would it be cool if you could email me or attache the onenote file. I tried to copy your notes to have but had trouble because of some tables. thanks,

MariusRZR Trust me I'm the same way. wait until the last min to do certain things like studying. But this time around I'm making more time. Stopped watching tv, videos games, and messing around. I paid way to many time not to pass this exam. HATE wasting money and not getting results.

Once again thank you everyone for all the feedback, and the great help. I will keep you guys posted.
