Where are the passwords stored in active directory?
Robbo777
Hi, i'm wondering where are the hashed passwords of user accounts stored in active directory? I just want to be able to see for myself where they actually are and haven't been able to find a proper answer yet online.
Thanks

Did a Google search for "ntds.dit password extraction" and pulled up quite a few results. Almost everything about Active Directory is stored in the ntds.dit file in the SYSVOL shared folder between Domain Controllers. Have fun!
