Hey everyone,

So another year of college has finished and I've learned many new things. Now I'm job hunting and I'm making any IT position a priority over non-IT jobs that I may be offered. However, I applied at my local hospital again because they are looking for a 10 month tech, which is what I was back in 2014 for a 3 month term. The problem is, if I am successful in getting this position offered and I take it, or any other position, I may have to restart the entire Network Admin program in September 2017 because my "5 year extension" will be maxed out. I'd rather have an IT related job until September so the stuff I learned is still fresh in my mind.

Basically, my student advisor said I have until 2018 to get my diploma, so I'm considering 2 options:

A. Retake the entire program in 2017, therefor, get more experience

or

B. Figure something out to keep the stuff fresh while working a different job

I know that I need to have an income over the summer, but experience is more important to me right now. So far, I just have 4 (2 if i get my CCNA before Oct 31st) courses of Year 1 to finish, then 9 Year 2 courses plus practicum to get my diploma.

What do you suggest?

Sounds like that "school" is looking for any way possible to get more money out of you. Quit the school, earn your CCNA, take your previous job experience and training, and find a job on your own. You don't need their paper degree. Job experience is better.

    What a terrible advice.

As for keeping stuff fresh, you can setup a lab in GNS3 and run through it from time to time.
